Chorister Experience Day

Westminster Abbey enjoyed another successful Chorister Experience last weekend, welcoming thirteen boys to the Abbey and Choir School for the afternoon. The boys were treated to a tour by the Abbey’s Learning team, then a very special visit to the organ loft, where the boys even tried out a few tunes on the mighty organ!

Next was a rehearsal with the choristers, working on the music for Evensong with the Organist and Master of the Choristers, James O’Donnell. After refreshments at the Choir School it was back to Song School for robing and procession practice and, after some last-minute cassock adjustments, the boys sang Evensong with the Abbey choir to a congregation of over seven hundred people. One Chorister Experience parent commented: ‘He was literally beaming when he came out; it’s truly a once in a lifetime experience and he absolutely loved every second.’
